Procurement Manager

Job Summary

Duties

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, focusing on sourcing, category management, and supply chain optimization.
• Lead end-to-end procurement processes using ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS, ensuring accuracy in purchasing, materials management, and production planning.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules while maintaining compliance with industry standards such as Federal Acquisition Regulations.
• Manage supplier relationships through regular performance evaluations, root cause analysis of supply issues, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee procurement activities related to manufacturing, logistics, and distribution to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Conduct market research and sourcing activities to identify new suppliers or alternative materials that enhance quality and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality management, logistics, and finance to align procurement goals with production schedules and organizational priorities.
• Monitor procurement KPIs such as lead times, cost savings, supplier performance scores, and inventory levels; implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Lead contract management efforts by drafting, reviewing, and renewing agreements while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
• Facilitate training for team members on procurement best practices, ERP systems usage (SAP, Oracle EBS), and regulatory requirements.
• Stay informed about industry trends in supply chain management, pricing strategies, and category management to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; advanced certifications such as CPSM or CPM are a plus.
• Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Extensive knowledge of ERP systems including SAP and Oracle EBS for procurement processes.
• Strong contract negotiation skills with a track record of securing advantageous terms.
• Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems and production planning methodologies.
• Deep understanding of supply chain principles including sourcing strategies, logistics coordination, supplier management, and quality assurance.
• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) or equivalent government procurement standards is desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills for root cause analysis and problem-solving within complex supply networks.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement across departments and external suppliers.
