Overview
The Front Desk Manager oversees the daily operations of the front desk to ensure exceptional guest service and smooth check-in/check-out processes. This role is responsible for managing front desk staff, maintaining high standards of hospitality, and ensuring compliance with hotel policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities
Guest Service Excellence:
- Ensure all guests receive a warm welcome and prompt, courteous service.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues efficiently to maintain satisfaction.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and schedule front desk staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for improvement.
Operational Management:
- Oversee check-in/check-out procedures, room assignments, and billing accuracy.
- Monitor reservations and coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams.
- Maintain front desk supplies and equipment.
Financial & Administrative Duties:
- Manage cash handling and daily reconciliation of front desk transactions.
- Prepare reports on occupancy, revenue, and guest feedback.
Corporate Negotiated Rate Management:
- Manage corporate negotiated rates and seek out new accounts.
- Maintain relationships with existing corporate accounts.
Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure adherence to hotel policies, safety regulations, and brand standards.
- Implement and maintain front office SOPs.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in front desk or guest services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, PMS systems).
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
