Über

McSherr Inc is seeking someone who is motivated and detail orientated for our Lead DSP position to work with individuals with disabilities in our Waiver program.

Our Lead DSP (LDSP) is responsible for the development, training, and support of Direct Support Professionals within our Group Home. The LDSP will assure that McSherr Direct Support staff are meeting job requirements in the areas of daily living skills, health maintenance, medical administration, personal care, and behavioral development.

Our supervisor also participates in and works collaboratively with the "Team" (CEO/RN/QIDP/SSC/Guardian/Family/POA, HR and consumer) to ensure positive consumer outcomes and compliance with all applicable state and federal policies and standards.

The LDSP advocates for the consumers to be fully integrated into community life and monitors continually to assure Quality of Life and that Human Rights are respected per State and Federal regulations and standards. The LDSP will:

  • Represent McSherr in a professional manner at all times
  • Communicate effectively with others
  • Attend mandatory meetings
  • Make informed decisions, work independently, analyze and problem solve,
  • Supervise DSP's
  • Assist with evaluations annually
  • Addresses employee complaints and resolves problems
  • Ensures that overtime is kept to a minimum
  • Assist with staff schedules and post online no later than the first of each month
  • Organize and participate in the on-call rotation in the Supported Living Program
  • Train and audit on a regular basis the finances of each home
  • Train and audit on a regular basis the medication administration records
  • Acquire consumer housing as needed
  • Accompany consumers to appointments as needed
  • Ensure compliance with McSherr policies and procedures
  • Ensure McSherr Group Home Consumers are treated with respect and dignity
  • Attend appropriate in-services, conferences, and meetings
  • Facilitate teamwork and team building
  • Complete coaching and counseling as appropriate for employee disciplinary issues
  • Be able to work flexible hours and direct care shifts when needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
