Duties
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth shift transitions and optimal service delivery
- Supervise and motivate staff, including training new team members and conducting ongoing development to uphold service standards
- Manage food preparation processes, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with food handling regulations
- Oversee inventory control, including stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to maintain cost efficiency
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling, order processing, and sales reconciliation
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and sanitation protocols across all kitchen and dining areas
- Support kitchen management by supervising food production, culinary processes, and ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to guarantee a positive dining experience
- Assist with budgeting responsibilities and monitor expenses to meet financial targets
- Coordinate with catering or banquet teams for special events when applicable
- Conduct staff interviews, performance evaluations, and manage shift schedules to optimize team productivity
Skills
- Proven experience in food service management within quick service & fast food or casual dining environments
- Strong supervisory skills with a background in team management, training & development, and leadership roles in hospitality settings
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary practices, and food safety regulations
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for efficient transaction processing
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse guest needs professionally
- Experience managing inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis within a restaurant setting
- Familiarity with kitchen management tasks including food handling, food production, and catering operations
- Ability to supervise shift management effectively while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Strong communication skills for interviewing candidates and coordinating team efforts
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards gained through restaurant or hotel experience is highly desirable
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
