Duties

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of janitorial staff working during evening shifts to ensure timely completion of cleaning tasks
• Conduct inspections of assigned areas to verify cleanliness, safety, and adherence to quality standards
• Assign cleaning duties including floor care, buffing, industrial cleaning, and custodial tasks based on facility needs
• Train new team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment; place orders as needed to maintain operational readiness
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all cleaning activities
• Address any issues or concerns raised by staff promptly to maintain a motivated and efficient team environment

Experience

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings with a focus on floor care, buffing, and general cleaning procedures
• Previous supervisory or porter experience leading small teams in a facilities maintenance environment
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques including industrial cleaning methods and residential painting basics is advantageous
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or preventative upkeep is preferred
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers, floor scrubbers, and industrial vacuums confidently
• Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness are consistently achieved
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude
