Position: Partners seeks a caring, compassionate, and diligent individual to work closely with victims of domestic and sexual violence. The full-time, Bilingual Paralegal will work under the supervision of Partners' Senior Paralegal and attorneys. We currently have a hybrid work schedule with both in office/court and remote days each week. The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Extensive work with clients to support our legal assistance programs
  • Interpret for Spanish speaking clients, in the office and in court
  • Translate Spanish evidence into English
  • Answer miscellaneous calls/messages
  • Perform detailed intakes with survivors of domestic and sexual violence
  • Support staff attorneys in case preparation, evidence gathering, and client communications
  • Build and maintain relationships through outreach and routine communications with our case referral sources, community organizations, and the judiciary
  • Keep client database current
  • Track cases for outcomes
  • Other tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual – fluent in English and Spanish
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Strong organizational, writing and interpersonal skills
  • Facility with computers and software (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Willingness to travel regularly to our office in Bloomfield and courthouses in Essex, Union, Middlesex, Hudson and Passaic Counties
  • College graduate preferred
  • Two years' work experience in an office environment preferred
  • Experience in family law matters or working with traumatized individuals is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55, $60,000.00 per year
