Job Summary:

This role is responsible for operating mobile equipment such as a forklift, floor jacks and hoist systems to receive, deliver and dispense stock material and miscellaneous goods. The Warehouse Technician will work in a large warehouse environment receiving stock and components from delivery trucks and placing materials in the bins or assigned shelf locations, using the packing slip to check off every item and verify the shipment is complete. Accuracy is extremely important, but speed is also a factor. The person in this position will need to work on their own and will be expected to perform tasks without problems. Additional responsibilities include the distribution of warehouse materials to the production floor and cycle counting inventoried items to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

Office Environment: 2% of the work is conducted in an office setting, involving time spent on computer research, project management, and communication with team members and stakeholders. Frequent participation in both in-person and virtual meetings, including project updates, strategy sessions, and presentations to management and stakeholders.

Production Environment: 98% Regular visits to the production areas will involve exposure to machinery, noise, varying temperatures, humidity, and wet conditions.

Travel: 0% Occasional travel for training, meetings, conferences, etc.

Schedule: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Knowledge of warehousing software and inventory management systems is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
  • Load and unload cargo from trucks and delivery vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Organize and store products in the warehouse according to company procedures.
  • Check goods to ensure they are not damaged or missing.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to transport goods around the warehouse.
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations, including the use of protective gear and proper lifting techniques.
  • Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring that goods are properly packaged and labeled.
  • Assist with inventory management, counting, and reconciling products to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing warehouse experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FDA's current good manufacturing practices (cGMP)
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Valid driver license
  • Forklift experience preferred though training will be provided
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Comfort wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed
  • Experience with Scanning Solution is preferred
  • Experience with cycle counting

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires the ability to lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Regular visits to production areas will involve exposure to machinery, high noise levels, varying temperatures, humidity, and wet conditions.
  • Must be comfortable sharing office space with other professionals and performing repetitive, computer-based tasks. This includes extended periods of sitting, reaching with hands and arms, and using input devices such as a keyboard, mouse, and other tools. The role requires maintaining focus on detailed screen work for prolonged durations, including tasks such as data analysis, report preparation, and troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work around ingredients and/or finished products containing food allergens.
  • Must be able to communicate through various channels, including phone, email, face-to-face, and videoconferencing.
