Hotel Chief Engineer

The Residence Inn Glen Mills is currently hiring a Chief Engineer. The hotel chief engineer manages all maintenance and engineering operations to ensure the building's systems (like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical) are efficient and safe. Responsibilities include supervising a maintenance team, creating and managing preventive maintenance schedules, handling repairs, overseeing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and building codes to maintain guest comfort and asset protection.

Responsibilities:

• Building and grounds maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel's physical structure, including rooms, common areas, and grounds.
• System management: Ensure the proper function of all building systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration.
• Preventive maintenance: Develop and implement scheduled preventive maintenance programs to prevent costly breakdowns.
• Safety and compliance: Manage safety systems like fire alarms and conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with all local and federal regulations, codes, and standards.
• Staff and team management: Lead, supervise, and delegate tasks to the engineering team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Budget and financial management: Develop and manage the engineering department's budget, control expenses, and approve purchases for equipment and supplies.
• Guest services: Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and handle complaints to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction.
• Energy management: Implement and monitor energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs.
• Emergency response: Act as a key member of the emergency response team, addressing and resolving maintenance-related emergencies as they occur.
• Project management: Coordinate and supervise contractors for major repair, renovation, or installation projects.

Qualifications:

• Prior hotel engineering experience.
• Supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of PM Programs.
• Marriott experienis ce ideal but not required.
