This position is contingent upon the program award expected by year-end 2025.

This role requires half-time as a Transition Lead for the startup of the new Water Moccasin program, and half-time as the lead of the Integrated Automation Team (IAT). After the initial program startup activities, this role transitions into full-time IAT Lead.

The Transition Lead responsibilities of this role require the management of initial program startup activities such as contract documentation delivery, charge number generation, etc.

The Automation Team Lead Responsibilities Are

  • Guide prioritization and execution – utilizes cyclical workflow emphasizing configuration management, validation, and coordination
  • Lead a team of approximately 5 engineers matrixed to all program functional areas
  • Develop scripts, tools, applications, or other automated solutions to continuously propel Lean Operations
  • Lead using Automation, Transformation, Lean Advancement Solutions (ATLAS) process to deliver incremental improvements aligned with Lean Operations philosophy (operational success balanced with continual resource optimization. It is a constant goal, and a comprehensive philosophy that extends beyond automating 24/7 operator activities; it includes all functions where every manual activity is an optimization opportunity)
  • Participate in and/or lead working groups and make presentations/recommendations to customers and the leadership team on detailed technical aspects of the system

Candidate should have automation development/implementation experience, advanced communication skills, and a strong desire to help the greater team be successful.

Desired Skills

  • Experience developing automated solutions on systems originally built without automation
  • Understanding of/experience with Machine Learning and how to develop models
  • Experience utilizing a breadth of software platforms/languages: Python, PERL, Linux, AWS, etc.
  • Previous experience with a customer base on a program for complex systems, software development, and issue resolution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Enjoys working in a team environment and collaborating with people in different functions
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
