Job Summary:

TESS is a leading provider of services to the Mega Yacht Industry. We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer (EDE) to design, test, and maintain electronic instrumentation that measures physical processes within defined parameters.

The EDE will utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to complete assignments while applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering to achieve departmental goals. This role requires a deep understanding of complex engineering concepts and the ability to leverage this knowledge to develop innovative, user-friendly, and multifunctional equipment and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing new or modifications to existing electrical and electronic systems, and overseeing the construction, modification and installation of electrical systems on yachts.
  • Develops electrical design drawings which support calculations.
  • Designs, implements, maintains, and improves electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems operating computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Implement electrical design standards and procedures while ensuring the port, state, and class societies regulations and procedures are adhered to.
  • Perform detailed calculations to establish performance specifications.
  • Provide electrical engineering project support as needed with clients, equipment vendors, and shipyards.
  • Provide direction and support to marine team members and maintenance and repair crews at various locations including offshore and marine support facilities.
  • Prepares specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, electronic equipment, and computers and hardware and software, including application and programming.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, schematics, drawings and models

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Experience with engineering tools and techniques; AUTOCAD and EPLAN a plus.

· Knowledge of PLC programming and HMI a plus.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Automation Systems or equivalent experience.

0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $33.00 per hour
