About the Role

We are a rapidly growing multi-state cannabis operator with vertically integrated operations spanning cultivation, processing, and retail. We seek a hands on, strategic and creative marketing leader to drive brand growth, customer acquisition, and revenue across our multi-state cannabis operations. This role requires navigating complex and evolving cannabis advertising regulations while executing sophisticated marketing campaigns in multiple state markets. You will lead marketing initiatives, manage state-specific compliance requirements, and build marketing programs that drive measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-State Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies across state markets for both wholesale and retail sales
  • Lead brand positioning, messaging, and creative direction for corporate brand and product lines
  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value programs across dispensary and e-commerce channels
  • Develop and manage marketing budget allocation across states, channels, and campaigns with clear ROI tracking
  • Coordinate with operations teams to execute localized campaigns
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer insights to inform strategy
  • Ensure all marketing materials and campaigns comply with state-specific cannabis advertising regulations

Digital Marketing & E-Commerce

  • Lead digital strategy including SEO/SEM, email marketing, SMS, social media, and content marketing within platform restrictions
  • Optimize e-commerce experience, online menus, and ordering platforms for conversion
  • Navigate social media platform restrictions; develop creative approaches for organic reach and community building
  • Drive loyalty program development, engagement, and analytics

Brand Development & Creative Leadership

  • Oversee brand identity, visual design, packaging, and in-store merchandising across product portfolio
  • Lead creative development for campaigns, promotions, product launches, and seasonal initiatives
  • Ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints (retail, digital, packaging, events)
  • Develop compelling storytelling that educates consumers and builds brand loyalty

Retail Marketing & Customer Experience

  • Develop retail marketing programs including promotions, and events
  • Create point-of-purchase materials, menu boards, and educational content for budtenders
  • Lead grand opening strategies and new market entry campaigns
  • Implement local store marketing playbooks and grassroots community engagement
  • Partner with retail operations on merchandising strategies
  • Train retail teams on product knowledge, selling strategies, and brand storytelling

Data Analytics & Performance Marketing

  • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks for campaign performance, customer acquisition costs, and ROMI
  • Leverage data analytics to optimize marketing spend, customer segmentation, and targeting
  • Report on marketing performance to executive leadership with actionable insights

Required Qualifications

  • 5 to 7+ years marketing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • Proven track record developing and executing successful marketing campaigns with measurable ROI
  • Expertise in digital marketing, performance marketing, and customer acquisition strategies
  • Strong understanding of marketing analytics
  • Experience with regulated industry (cannabis, CBD, alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceutical, or gaming)
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong creative sensibility with ability to provide direction to designers and agencies
  • Data-driven decision maker comfortable with analytics and reporting

What We Offer

Salary range $75,000 - $110,000 DOE

Work Environment

Hybrid work arrangement with occasional travel (10-15%). Must be willing to visit retail locations, cultivation facilities, and manufacturing sites. Occasional exposure to cannabis products and odors. Flexibility for evening/weekend work during product launches, events, and peak retail periods.

Position requires background check consistent with state cannabis regulatory requirements. Must be 21+ and eligible for state-required agent cards/badges in operating markets.
