Our Client is seeking a
Test Engineer
to pay a key role in our cloud transformation efforts for the
United States Coast Guard at C5ISC in Alexandria, VA
. You'll support migrations and modernization of legacy mission-critical capabilities of the Coast Guard operations to the Coast Guard's Mission Cloud.
Job Description
As a Test Engineer you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of cloud migrations and services using a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Pipeline. You will play a crucial role in the development of Infrastructure as Code, aiming to streamline testing processes, reduce defects, and accelerate cloud migration.
Primary Responsibilities:
•
• Participate in program Agile initiatives to support innovation and enhancement of infrastructure automation and maintenance through iteration/functionality testing within a cloud environment.
•
• Collaborate with team members (Scrum Master, Cloud Engineer, DevSecOps) to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsets
•
• Leverage DevOps practices to ensure repeatability and Configuration Management of test cases/scripts are maintained and continuously improved
•
• Develop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system (JIRA/Confluence) and support performance testing/evaluation activities.

Qualifications:
• Proficiency in major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Understanding of cloud services architecture, networking, storage, and compute resources
• Experience with cloud-native testing approaches and distributed systems testing
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, or Ansible
• Ability to write, review, and test infrastructure code
• Understanding of version control for infrastructure and GitOps practices
• Automated testing frameworks and tools (Selenium, pytest, Jest, etc.)
• API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI)
• Performance and load testing (JMeter, LoadRunner, k6)
• Security testing fundamentals
• Migration testing strategies and validation approaches
• Disaster recovery and backup testing
• Multi-region and cross-availability zone testing
• Cloud cost optimization validation
• Compliance and security testing in cloud environments
Experience:
• BS degree with 3-5+ years of testing experience with at least 2 years in cloud environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Understanding of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus)
• Knowledge of networking concepts (VPC, subnets, load balancers, DNS)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Cloud provider certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, GCP Associate)
• Testing certifications (ISTQB, CSTE)
• DevOps or automation-focused certifications
