EmpiRx Health is experiencing a period of accelerated growth and platform expansion. We're seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage the security of our enterprise network infrastructure. This role will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems by protecting against threats, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents. The engineer will collaborate with IT, application, and cloud teams to ensure security controls are seamlessly integrated across on-premise and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage network & network security solutions, including switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, proxies, and zero-trust frameworks.
  • Significant experience with Azure networking services (NSGs, Vnets, etc)
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic to detect anomalies, intrusions, and advanced persistent threats.
  • Manage firewall policies, network segmentation, and secure connectivity across data centers, branches, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Remediate network security gaps found as part of vulnerability scans.
  • Collaborate with IT and application teams to ensure secure architectures and compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., PCI, HIPAA, SOX).
  • Lead troubleshooting of complex network and security issues, performing root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
  • Automate repetitive security tasks and improve monitoring through scripting or security orchestration platforms.
  • Participate in incident response, including containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving threats, emerging security technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in network security engineering or similar role.
  • Strong expertise in firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point) and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, and secure network protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and security controls (Azure/AWS).
  • Relevant certifications preferred: CCNP Security, CISSP, CISM, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional security team.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNP Security, CISSP, CISM, PCNSE, or equivalent.
