Assistant Preschool/Pre-K Teacher

We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate Preschool & Private Pre-K Assistant Teacher to join our classroom, serving children 3 to 5 years old. Assistant Teachers support Lead Teachers in providing a developmentally rich, play-based environment that prepares children for kindergarten and encourages creativity, independence, critical thinking, and early academic skills.

What You'll Do

• Support Lead Teachers in planning and implementing The Creative Curriculum activities aligned with the Maine Early Childhood Learning Guidelines
• Assist in creating a nurturing, organized, and engaging classroom environment for preschool and Private Pre-K children
• Model age-appropriate social skills, problem solving, and positive peer interactions
• Help facilitate child-led learning experiences, school readiness skills, and early literacy/math development
• Greet families and maintain strong communication regarding children's progress
• Support daily routines, including group activities, meals, and playtime
• Maintain a consistent schedule within our operating hours: Monday–Friday, 7:15am–5:30pm

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 2 years childcare or teaching experience, preferably with preschool or Private Pre-K children
• Passion for early childhood education and supporting school readiness
• Comfortable working with children 3 to 5 years old
• Team-oriented, patient, and reliable
• Willing and able to complete a federal background check

Preferred Education

• CDA or ECE Degree preferred
• Level 5 MRTQ preferred
