Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in preparing ingredients and assisting with meal assembly to ensure smooth kitchen operations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic food service environment, contributing to the creation of high-quality meals for our customers. Prior experience in food preparation, culinary arts, or food service is preferred, and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices is essential.

Duties

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring as per menu requirements
• Assist in assembling dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
• Support kitchen staff during meal preparation and cooking processes
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
• Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality
• Assist with menu planning and portion control to optimize efficiency
• Ensure all food items are prepared on time for service periods
• Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying management of stock levels

Skills

• Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety protocols
• Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods
• Background in food service, restaurant operations, or the food industry preferred
• Ability to handle food safely and maintain hygiene standards at all times
• Experience in catering or serving is a plus
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
