Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a genuine passion for helping others, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer's care needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health status.
  • Support clients with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
  • Assist clients in mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
  • Administer medication as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer's care is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client assistance.
  • Understanding of care plans and medication administration processes.
