Job Description
Beddingfield Drugs is seeking a dedicated, self-motivated pharmacy technician with community pharmacy experience for a full-time position. We're looking for someone passionate about patient care who enjoys working with a like-minded, experienced team.

Pharmacy Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00AM - 6:00PM
  • Saturday: 9:00AM - 1:00PM
  • Closed on Sundays

Job Summary
The pharmacy technician will assist in the filling of prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist in a community pharmacy setting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists the pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications and supplies.
  • Addresses patients' questions/concerns about their medications both in person and over the phone, referring them to a Pharmacist when necessary.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and providers regarding medication requests, additional information needs, or potential billing challenges.
  • Resolves issues related to insurance, adjudication, billing, or medication fulfillment.
  • Prioritizes work duties to ensure patient needs are met in a timely fashion.
  • Cleans equipment and maintains all required temperature logs as per policy and procedures.
  • Checks medication and supply inventory for out-of-date products and removes them from inventory.
  • Uses point-of-sale systems and assists with over-the-counter merchandising.
  • Answers incoming phone calls and assists patients in our drive-thru window
  • Aids in product purchasing, inventory, and equipment management. Orders the correct drug products from the wholesale company when requested. Is knowledgeable about various vendors and where to obtain different supplies.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding this information. Understands and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • State certification, registration, or license
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., start and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, access information online, etc.)
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction
  • Basic keyboarding skills
  • Knowledge or ability to learn Google Software interfaces

  • The employee must be able lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple distractions.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, with the addition of one Saturday shift (9am-1pm) on a rotating schedule roughly once per month. (Maximum 40 hrs/week)
  • Ability to operate a computer, and other office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician filling medications
  • At least 1 year of experience using PioneerRx pharmacy software
  • Pharmacy Technician License or Certification (PTCB)
  • Experience billing pharmacy insurance
  • Spanish speaking
