Our Madison, Wisconsin facility is seeking a reliable Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all goods entering our warehouse. Your diligence in this position ensures the integrity of our inventory and the smooth flow of operations. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies and ensure that all items are properly accounted for. We are committed to maintaining a safe and organized environment for all our employees. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in our supply chain and contribute to the efficiency of our logistics operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring accurate stock levels from the moment goods arrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document all received items using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Identify and report any shortages, damages, or overages to management.
- Prepare goods for put-away or further processing within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and good communication abilities. Previous experience in a receiving role, warehouse, or logistics environment is preferred. You must be comfortable performing physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and standing for extended periods. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace regulations is mandatory. This role requires accuracy and efficiency in data entry and inventory management.
