We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team in San Diego, California! This is a vital role within our logistics center, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods. You will operate various types of forklifts to load and unload trucks, transport inventory throughout the warehouse, and assist with shipping and receiving functions. A strong commitment to safety is essential, and you must adhere to all company policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate will possess excellent forklift operating skills, a keen awareness of their surroundings, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for extended periods. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload freight from trucks and trailers efficiently.
- Transport inventory to and from designated staging areas and storage locations.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with record-keeping.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Perform other material handling tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating forklifts.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe forklift operation and warehouse logistics.
- Strong commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
