We are looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our growing logistics operations in Houston, Texas. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, and resolving discrepancies to ensure the integrity of our stock. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently, minimizing losses and optimizing warehouse space. You will work closely with warehouse staff, shipping, and receiving teams to reconcile inventory levels and identify root causes of variances. This position requires a sharp analytical mind, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control best practices is essential. The ability to interpret data, generate reports, and implement corrective actions will be key to your success. You must be comfortable with physical inventory checks, which may involve lifting items and navigating the warehouse environment. Adherence to all safety guidelines and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is paramount. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
- Analyze inventory data and generate reports on stock levels and movements.
- Identify and implement process improvements for inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with warehouse, shipping, and receiving teams.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and use of PPE.
- Assist in receiving and put-away processes as needed.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to perform physical inventory checks, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Knowledge of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
