We are seeking a reliable and diligent Material Handler to join our logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within our warehouse facility. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving, identifying, and transporting materials to and from various locations within the building. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. You will be working with a diverse range of products, and it's crucial to handle them with care. We provide comprehensive training on safe lifting techniques, the operation of material handling equipment, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming materials and shipments.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts).
- Identify and locate materials required for production or shipment.
- Load and unload materials onto trucks or other transport vehicles.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment, ensuring clear pathways.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform routine checks on material handling equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed, such as counting and locating stock.
- Follow specific instructions for handling different types of materials.
- Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including significant lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Willingness to learn and operate various material handling tools and equipment.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and wearing required PPE.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
