Join our thriving logistics team as a Material Handler in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the movement and organization of materials throughout our state-of-the-art distribution center. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that raw materials, components, and finished goods are transported efficiently and safely from one point to another. This involves operating various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors, to move goods. Accuracy and speed are key to this position, as timely material flow is critical to our production and order fulfillment processes. You will play an integral role in maintaining an organized warehouse, ensuring that materials are stored correctly and are readily accessible when needed. Safety is paramount in our operations, and all employees are expected to adhere strictly to safety guidelines and procedures. This includes wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and employing safe lifting techniques. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and have a strong understanding of material handling best practices. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into warehouse storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from production lines, storage locations, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Organize and stack materials in designated areas, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment to ensure operational readiness and safety.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock put-away.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE and proper lifting techniques.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Contribute to team goals and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment; valid certification preferred.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 75 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Understanding of inventory control principles.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
