Calling all experienced Forklift Operators in New York City, New York! We are seeking highly skilled and safety-conscious individuals to join our dynamic logistics team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. Your expertise is crucial to our operations, ensuring timely handling of goods and maintaining an organized, secure facility. This role demands precision, vigilance, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working order.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as counting and organizing stock.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth logistics flow.
- Participate in ongoing safety training and operational improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory. Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment is required. Must have a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and material handling best practices. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness are essential. A strong commitment to safety and the correct use of PPE is paramount. Familiarity with various types of logistics equipment is a plus. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
