We are looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our expanding logistics operations in San Jose, California. This critical role involves managing and maintaining the accuracy of our warehouse inventory through diligent tracking, auditing, and reconciliation processes. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will implement and refine inventory control procedures, conduct regular cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure that our inventory data is precise and up-to-date. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be key to optimizing stock levels and minimizing losses. We foster a safe working environment, and adherence to safety protocols, including the use of PPE, is mandatory. While the role is primarily analytical, there may be instances requiring lifting of inventory items. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across all warehouse locations.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, documenting results.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and improve inventory control procedures and policies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Prepare inventory reports for management.
- Assist with stock rotation and the identification of slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to wear required PPE.
- Ability to lift and move items as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
