Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator in the heart of New York City! We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious individual to manage the movement of materials within our busy distribution center. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring efficient and timely handling of goods. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including counterbalance, reach trucks, and order pickers, to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and support production needs. Adherence to all safety protocols and company policies is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trailers and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating the system.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in regular safety training and contribute to a culture of safety awareness.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including picking, packing, and stocking.
- Manage heavy Lifting tasks with proper technique and equipment.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating forklifts is required.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy Lifting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and proper PPE usage.
