We are seeking another organized and proactive Shipping Clerk for our Indianapolis, Indiana facility. This is a key role within our logistics department, focused on managing the accurate and timely dispatch of all outbound shipments. You will be responsible for ensuring all documentation is correct, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining the efficiency of our shipping dock. If you have prior experience in shipping operations and a keen eye for detail, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our success.
Responsibilities:
- Process and verify all shipping orders, ensuring accuracy of product, quantity, and destination.
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with common carriers and freight forwarders for efficient shipment scheduling and tracking.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments in the shipping log and WMS.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for proper packaging and adherence to shipping requirements.
- Ensure the shipping area is kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Reinforce safety protocols, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE for all personnel in the area.
- Address and resolve any shipping discrepancies or customer inquiries related to shipments.
- Assist in inventory management by ensuring accurate outbound transaction recording.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of shipping and logistics processes.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics administration role.
- Proficiency in shipping software (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager) and MS Office.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
- Commitment to workplace safety and ensuring the proper use of PPE.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs on occasion.
