We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in San Jose, California. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately accepting, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our warehouse operations. You will work closely with suppliers, transportation carriers, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies and ensure all deliveries meet our high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately document received items using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Organize and stock received goods in designated warehouse areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams regarding delivery status and issues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Must be comfortable with lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the proper use of PPE is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
