We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on ensuring materials are moved correctly and safely within our warehouse. This position requires precision, awareness of your surroundings, and a strong adherence to safety protocols. You will work closely with warehouse associates and supervisors to manage inventory flow, load and unload trucks, and support various operational needs. A commitment to maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe working environment is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials and merchandise from trucks and into warehouse storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and stage merchandise accurately and securely.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment to ensure proper working condition and report any defects.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all Safety regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform tasks that may involve moderate Lifting when not operating machinery.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform duties such as moderate Lifting and prolonged standing.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
