We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing shipments. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, verifying package contents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial for this position, as you will be the final checkpoint before products leave our facility. You'll work closely with warehouse associates and supervisors to guarantee that all orders are processed correctly and efficiently. Upholding safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is a core expectation. This role requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to operational excellence within the logistics framework.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing lists.
- Verify the accuracy of orders being shipped against documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide updates on their status.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Ensure packages are properly labeled and addressed.
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist in maintaining an organized shipping area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and methods is beneficial.
- Ability to perform light lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required.
