We are hiring a Receiving Clerk for our Charlotte, North Carolina facility. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing goods. You will be responsible for inspecting deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and accurately documenting all received items into our system. This position is vital for our supply chain and logistics operations, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to safety . You'll work closely with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies. The role involves standing for extended periods, moving pallets, and occasional lifting . Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage or defects upon arrival.
- Verify received quantities against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Generate and attach receiving labels.
- Communicate any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE .
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, shipping, or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic WMS software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 30-40 pounds).
- Understanding of logistics principles.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment like pallet jacks and scanners.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and wearing required PPE .
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
