We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining proper documentation. Your meticulous approach will be vital in ensuring that all parcels are correctly labeled, packed, and dispatched according to schedule. This position requires excellent organizational skills and a strong understanding of shipping procedures and logistics. You will work closely with various departments to coordinate the movement of goods and uphold our commitment to efficient delivery. The ideal candidate is reliable, possesses strong administrative skills, and prioritizes accuracy. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify shipping information and addresses for accuracy.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation using WMS or shipping software.
- Package items securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments.
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure the safe handling of goods.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required by safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory tasks and other warehouse duties as needed to support logistics.
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is preferred. Proficiency in using shipping software and WMS. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs. Good communication skills. Familiarity with shipping regulations and carrier requirements. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. A commitment to workplace safety is essential. Understanding of general warehouse operations and logistics is beneficial. This role is critical for ensuring our products reach their destinations promptly and correctly.
