Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood sampling using proper techniques to ensure specimen integrity and patient safety
• Collect, label, and process specimens accurately according to laboratory procedures and protocols
• Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition to ensure comfort and safety during procedures
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout all specimen collection activities to prevent contamination
• Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience
• Document all collection details accurately in medical records using appropriate medical terminology
• Support laboratory staff by preparing specimens for testing, including processing and transportation

Experience

• Previous laboratory procedures experience, particularly in specimen collection or phlebotomy, is highly preferred
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology enhances performance in this role
• Experience working in hospital or clinical laboratory settings is advantageous
• Demonstrated patient service skills with the ability to handle diverse patient populations with professionalism and empathy
• Familiarity with venipuncture, blood sampling, vital signs measurement, and aseptic technique is essential
• Prior hospital experience or clinical laboratory experience will help you excel in this fast-paced environment
