A Growing and Progressive Community Health Center (with six (6) locations throughout the metro Detroit area) has an immediate opening for a General Dentist for a busy dental care practice in a patient friendly ambulatory setting.
Position Summary:
The Dentist is responsible for providing preventative and restorative dental care that is consistent with accepted professional standards. The dentist will provide care and services in accordance with established standards and practices at assigned primary care sites.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and provide appropriate dental treatment to patients within the scope of practice.
- Provide general and comprehensive dentistry services and supervise dental clinical staff.
- Assists with the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical policies and procedures as needed.
- Interpret x-rays, treat mouth diseases; perform prophylactic procedures, restorations and other treatment as needed.
- Perform dental evaluation on all patients. Instruct patients in oral hygiene and dental care.
- Perform emergency procedures on patients in order to reduce or eliminate immediate pain. Assessing treatment options and agreeing treatment plan with patients.
- Educate patients and parents of patients on maintaining proper oral health.
- Carefully document all medications, diagnosed, treatments and consultations.
- Maintain compliance with the privacy and security regulatory requirements of the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Qualification:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from an accredited institution.
- Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Michigan
- DEA registration
- Previous dental experience preferred
