Nursing Clinical Coordinator - Faculty/Instructor Description

Clinical Site Management

  • Establish and maintain clinical site partnerships, ensuring all affiliation agreements are current, signed, and compliant with institutional, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee documentation and timely renewal of clinical contracts in accordance with institutional policy.
  • Lead clinical site evaluations and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure continued quality and alignment with program needs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between South College Nursing Programs, clinical sites, and faculty.

Clinical Placement & Scheduling

  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule student clinical rotations to align with curriculum goals and program outcomes.
  • Provide clinical sites with required documentation prior to placement start dates.
  • Coordinate evaluations of clinical sites, student experiences, and faculty performance.
  • Work with Program Coordinators and faculty to address clinical placement or instructional concerns.

Faculty Oversight & Support

  • Supervise adjunct clinical faculty and clinical administrative support staff.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and training of clinical faculty, ensuring compliance with institutional and site-specific requirements.
  • Deliver orientation and ongoing support for adjunct clinical faculty, including site-specific training.
  • Communicate policy updates, procedural changes, and clinical requirements to clinical faculty.
  • Conduct regular rounding at clinical sites to observe instruction, provide faculty support, and maintain strong site relationships.

Student Compliance & Orientation

  • Manage student compliance processes using relevant systems (e.g., ACEMAPP, Contract Works, CampusVue, TCPS).
  • Present compliance expectations during student orientation and information sessions.
  • Monitor ongoing compliance and participate in disciplinary or appeal processes as needed.
  • Verify completion of all required documentation prior to clinical placement.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a point of contact for students, faculty, and clinical partners, maintaining clear and timely communication.
  • Organize and participate in Advisory Board meetings.
  • Communicate updates on clinical site procedures and requirements to faculty and students.

Program Support & Institutional Engagement

  • Collaborate with nursing leadership on policy development, planning, and program evaluation in support of state BON, accreditation (CCNE, ACEN), and institutional initiatives.
  • Participate in assessment, planning, and continuous quality improvement efforts for clinical education.
  • Adhere to South College's Commitment to Behavior Standards.
  • Adhere to all policies and guidelines established by the institution, school, department, affiliated partners, policies as described in the employee/faculty handbook, and any other directives or memoranda.
  • Participate in process improvement and demonstrate adaptability to drive efficiency to improve student outcomes.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Master's or higher degree in nursing preferred.

Licensure

  • Active, unencumbered registered nursing license in the state of IN required.

Experience

  • Minimum three years of full-time clinical experience in a professional setting in the role of a Registered Nurse required.
  • Clinical teaching experience preferred.
  • Administrative, managerial, or human resources experience preferred.
  • Able to work independently as well as with a group to meet deadlines.
  • Organized, accountable, and proactive in problem-solving and continuous process improvement.
