Once Upon a Child buys and sells baby & kids clothing, equipment and accessories. We are looking to add a Store Manager to our team ASAP. Tired of the same ol', same ol' retail? The Store Manager is responsible for assisting in all aspects of successfully operating a store including customer service, training, coaching, sales, merchandising, inventory acquisition, inventory management, report analysis, daily, weekly and monthly reporting, loss prevention, cash management, scheduling, operations and ... more.
If you are already a retail professional you understand the many 'hats' a Store Manager wears on a daily basis. If you're looking to join the retail world this is a position that demands flexibility and an ability to prioritize on a moment-by-moment basis to achieve the store and company goals.
Requirements
- 1+ year Management experience is required
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends and have schedule flexibility based on store needs
- Excellent customer service skills are imperative in this front line position
- Must accept and crave accountability for your own performance and that of your team
- Believes that busy days are good days and the busiest days are the best days
- Willing to do anything you expect your team to do and desire to train them so well they don't ever need you to do it
- Must take your work seriously but not yourself and also value a healthy work/life balance
- Must be able to stand for several hours and lift up to 40 pounds
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations
- Design strategy and set goals for growth
- Set policies and processes
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
- Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
- Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
- Direct the employee assessment process
- Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
- Provide solutions to issues
Skills
- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
- Experience in planning and budgeting
- Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
- Strong analytical ability
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Problem-solving aptitude
- BS/BA in Business or relevant field is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour
