Executive Director – Part Time
Under the guidance of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director leads the organization by overseeing external relations, resource development, advocacy, program management, and organizational operations to further Central Utah Food Sharing's mission.
Administrative Responsibilities:
· Build partnerships with nonprofits, advocacy groups, public agencies, and community leaders.
· Manage community relations including other relationships with local pantries and pantry partners.
· Serve as a spokesperson, representing the organization to external investors and ensuring effective communication and media relations.
· Oversee the development and management of programs that align with the organization's mission and ensure that programs are effective and impactful.
· Lead strategic planning, evaluation, and decision-making to ensure the organization is aligned with its goals and responsive to community needs. Maintain clear direction for staff and board.
· Develop and maintain food donor & partner relationships.
· Plan for and participate at major food drives and community/school food drives.
· Promoting awareness of hunger throughout the community through presentations and involvement at community events.
· Support and work closely with the Board, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to help them fulfill oversight responsibilities.
Resource Management Responsibilities:
· Manage financial resources, ensuring efficient use of funds and compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Maintain solid financial health and ensure accurate and monthly reporting.
· Develop and execute fundraising strategies, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual donations.
· Cultivate relationships with funders and donors to meet or exceed revenue goals.
· Writing and assisting with grants, collecting data and reporting.
· Perform process assessments and make recommendations for improved operations.
· Ensure pantry compliance of all food safety & storage requirements.
· Manages projects for onsite/offsite projects (food drives, pantry packs, etc.)
· Oversee procurement, distribution and inventory management.
· Oversee fleet and equipment maintenance and repairs.
· Oversee facility maintenance.
Personnel Management:
· Ensure effective recruitment, staff development, and adherence to workplace policies.
· Foster a positive work environment and ensure compliance with employment regulations.
· Supervise all employees' training, job schedule and performance.
· Providing oversight of volunteers & client services.
· Support training and supervision of volunteers who serve in the warehouse.
· Schedule volunteer drivers for grocery rescue and food deliveries/pick-ups.
· Create a positive and friendly work environment with pantry employees and volunteers.
· Manages client resource and support network.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Graduation and one-year experience in an area related to the above duties and/or combination of education and experience.
Supervisory:
· Supervisory, volunteer management and delegation skills.
· Strong problem solving, organizational and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of human resources, financial budgeting, and non-profit fundraising experience a plus.
· Must be dependable, detail oriented, motivated, a self-starter and able to multi-task.
· High standard of honesty and integrity is required. Maintain a high level of trust.
· Able to meet program performance measures in a required time frame.
· Able to work under pressure and in stressful situations.
· Able to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills and good listening skills
· Excellent customer service skills.
· A basic understanding of hunger awareness and services available to help low-income families and individuals.
- Familiarity with Millard, Juab, Sevier, Piute and Wayne co to unties, including relationships with local community networks and governmental agencies is a plus.
- Familiar with state and federal grants, including acquisition and reporting a plus.
Skills:
· Computer experience that may include Microsoft Office, Google products and other.
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record
· Fork-lift certified a plus
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be on your feet for much of the workday.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday from 9:00 to 3:00. Will need to be flexible enough to work other days or evenings for service projects, etc.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: Will be determined based on qualifications pertaining to the position.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30, $35,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
