Position Overview

Join the Modus Advanced engineering team as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer and drive innovation in advanced manufacturing processes that support life-saving medical devices, critical defense systems, and aerospace technologies. In this role, you'll lead process development, optimization, and implementation initiatives while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating directly with customers to solve complex manufacturing challenges.

Key Responsibilities
Process Development and Optimization

• Design and implement advanced manufacturing processes for complex components and assemblies
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce lead times, and optimize costs
• Develop and validate new manufacturing methods for emerging technologies and materials
• Create detailed process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DfM) reviews with customers and internal teams
• Implement statistical process control and data-driven manufacturing solutions

Customer Collaboration and Technical Leadership

• Partner directly with customer engineering teams to optimize designs for manufacturing
• Lead technical discussions regarding manufacturability, material selection, and process capabilities
• Provide engineering support for prototype development through production scaling
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new product introductions
• Present technical solutions and recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders
• Support business development activities with technical expertise and capability assessments

Quality Systems and Compliance

• Develop and maintain quality control processes that meet AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirements
• Lead failure analysis investigations and implement corrective actions
• Design and execute process validation studies and capability assessments
• Ensure compliance with ITAR, CMMC, and other regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with Quality team to establish inspection criteria and measurement protocols
• Drive implementation of advanced quality technologies and measurement systems

Technology Integration and Innovation

• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and automation solutions
• Lead capital equipment selection, installation, and qualification projects
• Develop advanced tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids
• Research emerging technologies and assess their applicability to Modus capabilities
• Support R&D initiatives and new process development projects
• Drive digital transformation initiatives including MES, ERP, and QMS integration

Team Leadership and Development

• Mentor junior engineers and manufacturing technicians
• Lead cross-functional project teams to achieve manufacturing objectives
