Senior Engineer – Hardware & System (HC)

Role Overview:

The Senior Engineer – HW and System (HC) will be responsible for
designing, configuring, and maintaining hardware infrastructure and system components
for
Energy Management Systems (EMS)
in a power utility environment. This role requires
hands-on experience with GE XA/21 platform
, focusing on hardware architecture, system integration, and high-availability configurations to support real-time grid operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hardware & System Design:
• Architect and implement hardware solutions for GE XA/21 EMS, including servers, networking, and storage.
• Configure high-availability clusters and disaster recovery setups for critical EMS applications.
• System Integration & Maintenance:
• Install, upgrade, and maintain XA/21 system components (servers, OS, middleware).
• Ensure seamless integration with SCADA, DTS, and PSA modules.
• Performance & Reliability:
• Monitor system health, optimize performance, and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices for EMS hardware and control systems.
• Compliance & Documentation:
• Ensure compliance with NERC CIP and other regulatory standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation for system architecture and operational procedures.
• Collaboration & Leadership:
• Work closely with IT, operations, and engineering teams to deliver robust EMS infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead hardware/system upgrade projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience:
• 10+ years in EMS hardware/system engineering for power utilities.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with
  GE XA/21 EMS platform
  hardware and system components.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong knowledge of server architecture, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and networking.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and XA/21 system administration.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

• Experience with
