Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, and self-motivated Speech-Language Pathologist to join a growing practice. This role involves providing specialized, person centered speech and language therapy services to older adults. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neurological conditions, experience working with older adults, and excellent communication and organization skills. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' communication and cognitive abilities and overall quality of life.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
- Incorporate and involve family members and caregivers in all aspects of therapy
- Collaborate with medical professionals to support patient progress
- Monitor and document patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about strategies, therapy exercises, home programs and recommendations
- Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
- Stay current with EBP and advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Passionate about having a meaningful impact on your patient's lives
- Master's degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders (strong CF candidates may be considered)
- Valid Oregon state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, patient assessment methods, and medical terminology in the areas of stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological conditions
- Prior experience working with adult neurological conditions preferred
- Preference for SPEAK OUT certified clinicians
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Pay: $ $80.00 per hour
