Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welding and fitting tasks on a variety of metal components, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of complex projects across construction sites and manufacturing environments. Duties

  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble metal structures and components.
  • Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques to join various metals including sheet metal, ductwork, and pipe materials.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure components meet strict specifications.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and machining tools to shape and cut metal parts.
  • Execute rigging, pipe threading, soldering, and assembly tasks with mechanical knowledge to ensure safe and efficient installation.
  • Conduct quality inspections on welds and fabricated parts using schematics, blueprints, and technical standards such as ASME codes & standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly handling materials, tools, and waste disposal in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members on-site or in manufacturing facilities to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Assist with the operation of forklifts or other material handling equipment as needed for transporting heavy components.
  • Support fabrication of ductwork or structural elements for construction projects while ensuring compliance with all relevant codes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working on construction sites or in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of welding processes including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and welding techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Knowledge of rigging practices, pipe threading, soldering techniques, and mechanical assembly procedures.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude coupled with basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork installation, or structural steel is highly desirable.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other heavy machinery safely; certification preferred but not required.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety compliance at all times.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating within a team environment across multiple projects.
