Solar Electrical Engineer

A major USA utility engineering firm is looking for a Solar Electrical Engineer with real utility scale experience who can hit the ground running.

You must be comfortable taking a project from early design through to final delivery and confident working across engineering, procurement and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs for utility scale solar projects including single line diagrams, schematics and equipment details

• Run system studies such as load flow, fault current, grounding and arc flash analysis

• Review drawings, calculations and reports to meet NEC, IEEE and utility standards

• Work with project managers and other engineering disciplines to deliver complete project packages

• Support equipment specifications for inverters, transformers, switchgear and MV systems

• Prepare documentation for permitting and interconnection

• Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting during installation and start up

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar

• Strong experience in utility scale solar

• Proficiency with PVsyst, ETAP, AutoCAD or similar tools

• Strong understanding of utility interconnection requirements

• Ability to work independently and manage tasks through full project cycles

• Excellent communication and coordination skills

Preferred

• Experience with high voltage systems, SCADA or BESS integration

• Familiarity with permitting or regulatory compliance
