The salary range for this position is $63, ,518.72 annually.

Job Summary
Monitors and evaluates the performance of sterile processing activities in order to ensure quality of work. Processes and sterilizes surgical and hospital instruments and equipment. Assembles surgical instrument sets and trays. Distributes patient care supplies and equipment. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Job Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Five years' technical experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • Sterile Processing Technician certification: Required
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Board Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD): Required

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of aseptic and sterile techniques. Ensures that supplies and equipment are used and maintained in a safe, cost-effective manner.
  • Interviews and recommends candidates for hire. Orients new employees to departmental practices and policies.
  • Evaluates performance of department personnel in cooperation with Director.
  • Performs a variety of confidential clerical duties including, but not limited to, word processing, data entry, typing, filing, answering telephone, photocopying and opening mail.
  • Provides feedback to Director for annual department budget needs. Provides feedback to Director regarding staffing needs and patterns according to program service.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
