The Medication Technician/Medication Passer is a leader and a role model for the shift and is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure delivery of medications. The Medication Technician/Medication Passer is key in developing, coordinating, and performing the tasks on the Growth and Wellness plan according to the elder's preferences and abilities. Leadership responsibilities include ensuring Care partners complete their assignments and supporting and guiding them.

As a Medication Tech/Med Passer, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

You will pass medication and assist with the administration of medication as required by state law.

You will guide and support the Med Techs AND Care Partners on your shift. Assisting with daily ADLS of residents

You will lead the team on your shift as a role model of kindness, accountability, responsibility, compassion, empathy, and most of all strong leader

You will coach team members to be the best they can be in collaboration with the Administrator

You will maintain continued compliance with the policies and procedures of Compass Senior Living, including those as outlined in the Quality Counts Policy and Procedure Manual and hold your team accountable for doing the same

Minimally and Experienced qualified applicants should have the following;

Must be 18 years or older

  • *****CBRF training per state regulations ****

Attend orientation, and required training within the first 30 days of employment

Work your scheduled days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed including staying for the next shift to maintain facility staffing requirements and proper care to our residents.

Be able to adhere to our attendance policy as well as our core values and policies and procedures Must be able to communicate effectively with elders, families, team members, vendors and the general public, provide a warm welcoming enviroment for all visitors and your co workers.

  • Must meet all health requirements, including TB that will be completed upon hire if not able to provide copy within the last 90 days

  • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation, on the job training will be provided for as long as you need until your comfortable in your position

  • Must pass a criminal background check

Must provide activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding residents as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning residents; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals, assisting residents with weekly showers and proper hygiene, monitoring for changes, reporting nursing needs to appropriate team, THOROUGH CHARTING

Must serve and protect the community by adhering to professional standards, community policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements; as well as Compass Senior Living Standards

Must protect this organization's value by keeping patient information confidential and respecting residents rights

Must have the drive to want to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in monthly meetings and required training

Must be able to use an electronic charting system, training will be provided

Must ALWAYS have compassion, patience, understanding, willingness to help others, and follow Compass model of Faith, Loyalty, and FUN
