Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily dental procedures. Prior experience with EMR systems and knowledge of various dental specialties such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics is highly valued. Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained
• Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols
• Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation and records management
• Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions
• Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas according to OSHA guidelines
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques
• Keep up-to-date with current dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental technology

Skills

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
• Experience with X-ray procedures and medical imaging techniques including 3D scanning technology
• Familiarity with dental terminology across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during diverse procedures while maintaining aseptic technique
• Strong understanding of infection control practices and sterilization procedures
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of medical documentation standards and medical coding practices related to dental services
