In this hands-on role, you'll wash and sanitize equipment, dishes, and utensils to support our food production process and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

This position offers flexible part-time hours Monday through Friday during first shift, in a positive, team-focused environment. No prior experience is required — just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. The wage is based on experience between $14 - $20 per hour.

Summary

Dishwashing Department Personnel are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards within the facility through proper cleaning and sanitizing of all dishes, pans, utensils, and food production equipment. This role is critical in supporting food safety and ensuring compliance with all health and sanitation regulations. Team members execute daily sanitation procedures to uphold a hygienic and organized environment that supports overall production operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize all dishes, pans, lugs, utensils, and other equipment using commercial dishwashing machines and/or manual washing procedures.
  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces (e.g., dishwasher handles, chemical dispensers) to minimize the spread of germs and maintain a healthy workspace; complete cleaning logs as required.
  • Operate and maintain industrial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any maintenance or repair needs to the Production Manager.
  • Keep dishwashing and surrounding areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Empty trash bins, replace liners, and manage waste according to health and safety regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, SSOPs, and health code requirements, including the proper use of cleaning agents and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Re-stock clean items in appropriate storage areas, including dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning materials, notify management when supplies are low, and maintain chemical inventory logs as required.
  • Assist with general sanitation tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning prep areas as needed.
  • Support other production, packaging, and shipping/receiving personnel during peak times or as directed.
  • Perform basic maintenance or cleaning of dishwashing and sanitation equipment as qualified.
  • This position may include additional duties that align with the overall scope of the role and contribute to the continued success of the department. These tasks are designed to support evolving business needs and provide opportunities for skill development and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • No prior experience required, previous food production or manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality standards.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching while performing cleaning and sanitation tasks.
  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals and hot water, following proper handling and PPE requirements.
  • Manual dexterity to operate dishwashing and sanitation equipment effectively.
  • Tolerance for working in varying temperature environments (e.g., warm wash areas, refrigerated production zones).
  • Clear vision and hearing to read instructions, follow safety signage, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Must be able to work safely with food products and equipment, following all food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
  • Must be able to read and understand SOP documents and chemical labels.

Must be able to complete a pre-employment background check. Glacial Freeze Dry is a drug free workplace.
