We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources/Employee Relations Manager to join our dynamic team. This role places primary emphasis on conducting workplace investigations, managing employee conduct issues, and complex employee relations matters while providing comprehensive HR support across all functional areas. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees, fostering a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
HR Investigations & Employee Conduct
- Lead comprehensive investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, policy violations, and other workplace misconduct
- Conduct thorough and impartial workplace investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and misconduct allegations
- Document investigation findings and recommendations in detailed, legally compliant reports
- Ensure all investigations are conducted fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
- Collaborate with legal counsel, when necessary, on complex employment matters
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Manage multiple sensitive cases simultaneously while maintaining objectivity and attention to detail
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to both employees and managers
- Mediate conflicts and facilitate resolution discussions between employees and departments
- Partner with leadership to address performance management issues and disciplinary actions
- Develop, implement, and evaluate employee engagement strategies and programs to enhance workplace satisfaction and retention
- Analyze employee feedback data and engagement survey results to identify trends and recommend improvements
- Plan and execute employee recognition programs, team-building activities, and culture-building initiatives
- Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change and all other employee-relations matters
General HR Functions
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases while ensuring data privacy and confidentiality
- Administer employee benefits programs and serve as liaison with benefits vendors
- Support performance management processes including reviews, goal setting, and improvement plans
- Assist with compensation analysis and salary administration
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements
- Provide HR metrics and reporting to senior leadership
- Support organizational development initiatives and change management efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive HR generalist experience with demonstrated expertise in conducting workplace investigations and managing employee conduct issues
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex, sensitive employee relations matters including harassment, discrimination, and misconduct cases
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA, etc.)
- Experience developing and implementing employee engagement programs and initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to maintain absolute confidentiality
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to build trust and credibility with employees at all organizational levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent)
- Training in workplace investigations, mediation, or conflict resolution techniques
- Experience with employee engagement survey platforms and analysis
- Knowledge of HR analytics and metrics development
