Our organization is seeking to fulfill the role of
Operations Manager
to oversee the performance and efficiency of the facility's operations by providing effective leadership and establishing excellence within the safety, quality, production, and employee cultures. The Ops Manager will work to analyze the company's organizational process and find ways to enhance work quality and productivity as well as the operational procedures, systems, information flow, and business processes. Building operational policies and strategies to help the facility operate and function efficiently, while exceeding food and occupational safety requirements, will be paramount.
The ideal Ops Manager will demonstrate leadership within the operation, inspiring high levels of commitment and driving top-level performance from all employees. Utilization of good management practices and team ownership techniques will be essential to success. This role reports directly to the General Manager (GM) and must collaborate with the Safety Coordinator and Quality Assurance and Food Safety Manager to help instill a culture of human safety, food safety, and quality among all employees. The Ops Manager is to work alongside Human Resources to establish recruiting, training, and hiring strategies that help locate and attract quality candidates.
Roles and Responsibilities:

● Thorough understanding of financial/budgeting processes and principles to ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
● Organizational skills and adaptability to respond quickly to a shifting reality that requires adjusting initiatives and priorities accordingly
● Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures to enhance and sustain internal capacity
● Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain quality assurance protocols and controls
●
Recruit, select, and train salaried and hourly production staff, managing wages and assigned hours
● Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports
● Maintain safe and healthy work by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures while complying with OSHA and other governmental regulations
● Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
● Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
● Drive Supply Chain Excellence by performing an analysis of inventory levels and turns, ensuring efficient utilization of inventory while maintaining timely and accurate inventory data
● Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations

Required Skills & Qualifications:
● Bachelor of Science in Operations Management, Business Administration, or other applicable field
● 3+ years' experience with operations management
● Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of production operations
● Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers and employees
● Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
● Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management
● Technical writing experience, specifically relating to policies and standard operating procedures
● Strong IT skills, including database development
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
● Exposure and knowledge of Food Safety Systems, CFR, FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, GMPs, etc.
● Experience with Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance, and food manufacturing products, preferably Ready-To-Eat peanut ingredient processing
● Knowledge of food manufacturing sanitation and sanitary maintenance
● PCQI certification
Compensation & Benefits:
