A well-respected, growth-oriented restaurant group is seeking a high-performing Sous Chef to join its award-winning culinary team. This individual will play a key leadership role in daily kitchen operations, support menu execution, and help drive a culture of excellence across all culinary disciplines. Position Summary
The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee all back-of-house operations, ensure exceptional food quality, and maintain consistent culinary standards. This role requires strong leadership, a passion for scratch cooking, and the ability to manage both day-to-day operations and long-term initiatives that enhance the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in supervising all kitchen operations, ensuring quality, consistency, and timeliness.
- Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff while fostering a positive, team-focused culture.
- Execute menu items with precision, creativity, and adherence to established culinary standards.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, vendor relations, and cost control procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment that aligns with all health and sanitation regulations.
- Contribute to menu development, seasonal specials, and tasting initiatives.
- Manage line checks, prep lists, and daily kitchen readiness to ensure smooth, efficient service.
- Uphold brand standards and operational excellence at all times.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant culinary leadership experience, preferably in a chef-driven, high-volume, or upscale dining environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a track record of developing kitchen teams.
- Proven ability to maintain food cost, execute systems, and manage inventory effectively.
- Exceptional cooking skills with a passion for high-quality ingredients and creative menu execution.
- ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
