Qualifications:
-Current and valid licensure as a Veterinary Technician.
-Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program.
-Proficient in the use of veterinary software for patient records and communication.
-Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care for animals
- Perform animal restraint during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Assist with surgical procedures, including prepping animals, monitoring anesthesia, and providing post-operative care
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of veterinary clinic or hospital
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy
- Proficient in veterinary critical care techniques
- Excellent animal handling skills, including the ability to safely restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of animal care practices, including grooming, feeding, and exercise requirements
- Familiarity with common veterinary procedures and treatments
- Ability to operate and maintain veterinary equipment and instruments
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team members
Preferred Qualifications
Specialized certifications or additional training in areas such as dentistry, anesthesia, or emergency care.
Experience with digital radiography and other advanced diagnostic equipment.
Knowledge of animal husbandry practices
