Description:

The Admissions Information Systems Specialist is a member of the Systems & Data Operations Team within the Office of Admissions. Primary functions of this position include daily support to the Slate CRM platform and other systems including but not limited to: advanced processing functions, query creation and maintenance, internal and external report generation, data exports/imports and data entry from external sources and other sources as needed. This individual will collaborate with the Assistant Director to continue implementation and further growth of the Slate CRM instance. Additionally, this staff member will manage a student labor team assigned to assist with both daily processes and system support, ensuring that the students have an educational work experience consistent with the learning goals of the College's Labor Program.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute critical data imports (e.g. ACT/SAT loads) into the CRM and other systems as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining internal ticket portal and troubleshooting issues with CRM daily.
  • Leverage CRM to update and build queries and reports as needed for distribution to on and off-campus constituents.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of queries that generate call and task lists, exports and other projects.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of queries that generate print communications and assist with the building of populations for communication delivery.
  • Manage the compilation of outgoing packets for admitted and committed students, ensuring accuracy in both style and address assignment.
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of student workers whose tasks will include outgoing mail, inventory and systems support.
  • Support the creation and implementation of HTML coding into Slate CRM portals, dashboards, etc.
  • Support the creation, integration, integrity and expansion of datasets within the CRM.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, document workflows, and find opportunities for operational efficiencies within and between departments across the admissions lifecycle.
  • As needed, complete data entry primarily from external sources (e.g. Parchment, SCOIR) and assist with data entry from other sources.
  • Complete administrative tasks, duties and responsibilities (e.g. expense reports, email) in a timely manner
  • In support of Berea College's great commitments this position requires student supervision. The fourth great commitment is to promote learning and serving in community through the student labor program, honoring the dignity and utility of all work, mental and manual, and taking pride in work well done. The Supervision would include scheduling, assigning and approving work performed. Developing students about common workplace acumen and giving them tangible work experience is an expected outcome. What You'll Bring:

Education required to ensure success in this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Fields of study in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related fields preferred

Experience required to ensure success in this position:

  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience with information systems, databases or other system solutions required. 4+ years preferred.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript, CSS, HTML and SQL
  • Work experience in higher education a plus

Special skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of data relationships, layouts and conditional statements
  • Ability to review and analyze lists, charts, tables and graphs for errors
  • Logical thinker, detail oriented and highly organized
  • Proficient in math and computing
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

License, certification, or registration necessary:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Required background checks

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.

Environmental conditions:

  • Professional office environment with interruptions and noise due to frequent visitors, students, staff and faculty
  • Occasional travel required for meetings, conferences, etc.

Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment:

  • Standard office equipment: computer, fax, phone, etc.
  • Vehicle – college vans/cars
